Isn't is amazing that raccoons tails make up about 42 - 52% of their length. Raccoons are one of the top 10 animals to have the best sight at night. Raccoons can adapt extremely well when they get into a new environment. Raccoons have many interesting, and helpful characteristics that help them adapt to their surroundings. For example, one characteristic is the have a bushy tail to keep them warm in the winter. This shows that they can survive in cold weather without dieing. Another characteristic is they have a very long tail. This helps them balance in high trees when they are chasing their prey. Another characteristic is they excellent eye sight sight at night. This shows that raccoons can see in both the day and the night.
Raccoons can live in many different surroundings. For example, raccoons live in the ground. They like this because they are safe from animals that can climb trees. They also like the ground because it is nice and cool. They also like to live in trees because trees grow near water. They like trees because the food is easier to get food, such as berries. They also like to live in trash cans and the backyards of houses. They like this because they can get free food, ( trash ).
Raccoons can adapt extremely well when they get into a new environment. We should protect these animals because poachers kill them just for their unique fur patterns, and if this goes on for to long, they will all die off.
