Why are Chinstrap penguins so unique? Chinstrap penguins have a lot of characteristics and habitats. A penguin's characteristics help it to stay alive.
Chinstrap penguins have
many unique characteristics. For example, one of its characteristics is their
feathers and blubber.
This helps the penguin by keeping it warm and helping it retain
its energy. Another characteristic is that the Chinstrap penguin has legs on the
back of its body. These legs help it steer and streamline while swimming. The
last unique characteristics is the penguin's arm bones. These bones help it form a
flat and rigid flipper for streamlining. Chinstrap penguins have many special
characteristics to help it survive.
The Chinstrap penguin
lives in a special place to stay alive. For example, it lives south of the equator
in open oceans and icebergs. Therefore, it can fish for its food for
nourishment. Another example of a habitat necessary is that the penguin lives
near the coast.
The coast is needed so when it lays eggs, it nests there and keeps them
warm. Another habitat element is located on the Sub - Antarctica Region and
Antarctica Peninsula. This helps it because they need cold temperatures to survive
and they keep warm with its feathers. Finally, this Chinstrap penguin has adapted to
the cold climates.
Chinstrap penguins survive daily with their many characteristics and habitats. People should care about all of the penguins by playing with them and giving them food to eat.

How long is a penguin's life span? 15 to 20 years
How long is incubation? 33-35 days; after hatching, parents brood chicks for an additional 20-30 days
What is a penguin's diet? Primarily large krill; will also supplement diet with squid and fishes
What is the population of penguins? 6.5 million breeding pairs
What is a penguin's status? Not globally threatened; generally stable
