Volcanoes are openings in the earth's surface where lava, hot gasses, and rock fragments erupt. The three main kinds of volcanoes are Shield, Cinder, and Composite volcanoes. Volcanoes are created by magma, melted rock inside the earth. Volcanic materials include lava, rock fragments, volcanic dust, volcanic ash, volcanic bombs.
