Theory of plate tectonics
Plate tectonics is a new theory how geologists think about the Earth. Plate tectonics helps scientist know more on "how the Earth works". The surface of the Earth is broken into large plates. The size and position of these plates change over a certain period of time. Where the edges of these plates move against each other, are places of activity, such as earthquakes, volcanoes, and mountain changing. The layers of the Earth are either chemical or physical.
