Third Grade Project

7A  Pretend that you are an arctic animal.  Create a picture diary of your life in the harsh arctic climate.  Read about the lives of a polar bear and seal.

7B  The plants of Alaska, like the wildlife, are adapted to survive through the extremely cold winter and the frozen ground.  Pretend you are a photo journalist Research at least three of these plants or animals, and explain their adaptations.  Click here to see a collection of our work.

 7C  You are a writer for a health journal, your assignment is diphtheria.  Find out its causes, its symptoms, and how it is treated.  Include information about why it is no longer a threat in our country.  Also, include information on the 1925 diphtheria epidemic that hit the city of Nome Alaska.  Click here to read Aine's work.
