Fun Facts 

* King Cobras average in size 3.7 meters in length and is known to grow 5.5 meters.

* It is typically brown and black on the top of their body and either white or yellow on the bottom.

* The King Cobra is known to be a very aggressive snake and this is because of its size and spitting venom.

* King Cobras eat primarily other snakes, such as rat snakes, kraits, other cobras and pythons.

* This snake is active by day.

* Prey are located by odor with the forked tongue and shortly before final attack, the snake relies on its eyesight.

* Prey is swallowed still living and process may take hours.

* King Cobras are the only snakes that build nests. It is made of two stories. They can lay up to eighteen to forty eggs.

* The female pushes leaves and branches into a nest pile where the eggs are incubated by the elevated temperatures of decomposition.

* Incubation takes place during spring and summer, hatching in the fall.

* Baby snakes are able to hunt immediately after hatching.

* King Cobras are found in the Philippines, Malaysia, southern China, Burma, India, Thailand and the Malay Peninsula.
