My Poem about the Tiger

There are creatures that live in the forest,

their colors stand out being orange, black, and white.

We sit and watch waiting for him to start chasing you,

but it just sits and stares into the greenness of the forest.

Fun Facts about the Tiger

* Today only about 5,000-7,000 wild tigers live across Asia.

* The white spots are called 'eye spots' or 'predator spots'.

*  They help keep cubs safe from predators that are approaching from behind by appearing as eyes, and making it seem like the tiger is larger and looking at the predator.

*  They also help adult tigers in the same way.

Average Weight: Female is 221 - 353 Pounds and the Male is 419 - 569 Pounds

*  Known as the Indian Tiger and the Royal Bengal Tiger.
