Kingdom: Animalia, the characteristics of the Duck-Billed Platypus that place it in this kingdom are: it's multicellular, a heterotroph, it's body is made up of cells organized into tissue, it reproduces sexually, or by the joining of a female egg and a male sperm.
Phylum: Chordata, some characteristics that place it here are the notochord, or a rod that extends most of the length of the body; it stiffens the body and acts as support during movement
Class: Mammalia, some characteristics that place it here are hair, sweat glands, and 3 middle ear bones
Order: Monotremata, some characteristics that place it here are it's webbed feet, water repellant fur, grind food on plates attached to their gums, they lack teeth, they lay eggs
Family: Ornithorhynchidae, it has webbed feet, wooly, water repellant fur.
