Phylum: Chordata

Characteristics that place it here:

* They posses a structure called a notochord.]

*  They have a bilateral symmetry, a segmented body including segmented muscles

*  Three germ layers and a well developed coelom

*  A single dorsal

*   Hollow  anus at some stage of development

*  Complete digestive  system

*  A bony or cartilaginous endoskeleton

Class: Mammalia

Characteristics that place it here:

* They have 3 middle ear bones

* Have hair
