Italy
The Nativity scene originated in Italy. The people exchange their gifts on January 6, the feast of the Epiphany in remembrance of the Magi’s visit to Baby Jesus.
Some of our favorite Christmas traditions
come from Germany. Our Advent wreath and Christmas Tree are
two of them. We can also thank Germany for having Santa
arrive with gifts on Christmas Eve.
At Christmas time in Mexico the people have parades called posadas. They pretend they are Mary and Joseph looking for a place to stay in Bethlehem. They travel from house to house each night until Christmas Eve. Then they enter a home and have a big party, usually with a piņata for the kids.
My Christmas
On Christmas Eve my grandma and grandpa come over. I get to open some of my presents. On Christmas day I go to my grandma’s and grandpa’s. To have brunch and open my gifts that Santa brought me.
