-range to a few grams or kilograms in weight

-have powerful shortened legs

-feet are usually small, those that swim have large feet (like muskrats)

-four clawed didgits are found on each foot

-their tails have usually no hair

-head and body length is 60-150km, tail length is  70-145mm.

-eat roots, grains, seeds, berries, nuts, and insects.

-these mice breed many times a year they have up to six litters. (containing 6 young per litter.)

-they are very good leapers and swimmers. 

-they usually die within 180meters of their birth place.
