Isis Isis was the mother of Horus and a sister of Osiris. She was the daughter of Nut. Osiris was killed by Seth. Isis searched for Osiris and found him and brought him back to life. Horus later killed Seth for Isis. Isis was worshipped all over Egypt and the entire Roman Empire. She was called Usert in Thebes and Aat in Helipolis. She had more names too. Isis' symbol is the star of Seth in the heavens. Isis' star was seen at the beginning of the year and announced the overflow of the Nile. Isis had magical powers. Some of her spells were revealing Ra's secret name and making a venomous reptile out of dust and the spittle of a god. She was seen as a woman with cow horns enclosing a sun disk on her head.
