Pets
How were pets used?
Pets were used to hunt, point, retrieve, or race. The Pharaohs only chose very smart animals. Some of the more popular animals with the Pharaohs were basenjis, cats, monkeys, gazelles, birds, lions, cattle, scarab beetle, mongooses, snakes, ibises, baboons, rams, shrews, fishes, crocodiles, hippopotamuses, frog, toad, locusts, scorpion, and cheetahs. All the animals that the Pharaohs used had some religious significance. The animals that the Pharaoh chose were not house pets.
