Some leaders of the old kingdom are King Menes, Djer, Wadj, Semerhhet, Sanakhte, Netjerykhet, Sekkemkhet, Khaba, Snofru, Khufu, Radjedef, Khafre, Menkaure, Shepseshaf, Userkaf, Sakure, Nefrirkare, Kakai, Sheseshare Ini, Ranferef, Niuserra Izi, Menkauhor, Djedhare Izezi, Wenis, Teti, Pepy I, Mesrenre Nemtyemzaf, Pepy II.

Time Periods

These are some of the kings time periods.  King Menes ruled about 5200 years ago.  Sanakhte ruled from 2650-2630 B.C..  Netjerykhet ruled from 2630-2611 B.C..  Sekkemkhet ruled from 2611-2603 B.C..  Khaba ruled from 2603-2599 B.C..  Snofru ruled from 2575-2551 B.C..  Khufu ruled from 2551-2528 B.C..  Radjedef ruled from 2528-2520 B.C..  Khafre ruled from 2520-2494 B.C.. 

Pyramid Building

Pyramids were built as tombs for the pharaohs and very important people. They were triangular in shape and were a maze inside so grave robbers could not steal the kings possessions.
