Vatican II

I chose this piece of work because I really enjoy doing PowerPoint presentations. This project taught me how to put pictures and images into my presentation, in order to make it more interesting.

From this assignment I learned about Pope John XXIII, and his aid in church affairs. This project also helped me to learn about the changes made in the church through Vatican II, such as changing the language to the Vernacular, and changing the position of the alter so that the priest faces the congregation.

One thing I want to tell you about this assignment is that it was very fun, and it taught me a lot about the changes made through the Vatican II council.

Language Arts

Johnny Tremain Essay

I chose this piece of work because I felt that I did well on it, and  I was proud that my hard work finally paid off. I am now able to write beautiful essays that are extremely well organized, and that contain all of the characteristics of a well written paper.

From this assignment I learned how to increase my writing skills using the Jane Schaffer method. I also learned how to incorporate quotes,  facts, and opinions into my essay, that relate back to my topic.

One thing I want to tell you about this assignment is that it required a lot of hard work, concentration, and dedication.

Math

Exploring Matter

I chose this piece of work because I thought that I learned a lot about doing math calculations on the computer. I also chose this because I thought that it was interesting to find out my weight on all of the different planets.

From this assignment I learned how to calculate math problems on the computer using Microsoft Excel.

One thing I want to tell you about this assignment is that if I lived on Pluto; then I would weigh 6.82119379 pounds rather than 103 pounds

Science

Oil Pollution

I chose this piece of work because I enjoy doing PowerPoint presentations, and I also thought that it was very fascinating to learn about all of the different types of Oil Pollution

From this assignment I learned how to make PowerPoint presentations on XP, and I also learned about all of the different ways that oil pollution can occur.

One thing I want to tell you about this assignment is, that the different types of oil pollution are: Big Spills, Routine Maintenance, Down the Drain, Up in Smoke, Offshore Drilling, and Natural Seeps.

Laws

I chose this piece of work because I enjoyed learning about the different laws of gases from Charles and Boyle.

From this assignment I learned about the different relations between the volume, pressure, and temperature of a gas.

One thing I want to tell you about this project, is that in Boyle's law, the volume of the gas acts inversely with the pressure.

Chemical Element

I chose this piece of work, because I enjoyed doing this presentation, and learning about the element lead.

From this assignment I learned that Lead's symbol is Pb, and that it is found in the Earth's crust.

One thing I want to tell you about this assignment, is that Lead is a very neat element, and that it is very fun to do PowerPoint presentations.

Social Studies

Civil War Timeline

I chose this piece of work because I really enjoyed learning about the Civil War and the many events that took place during this time; such as the Battle of Fort Sumter, the Gettysburg Address, and the election of President Lincoln.

From this assignment I learned that the different events that took place in the Civil War, had a huge effect on the economies of the northern and southern states. For example, the Homestead Act allowed settlers to claim land after they had lived on it for 5 years. This made claiming land more difficult, because the settlers had to have lived on it for five years, in order for them to claim it to be their own.

One thing I want to tell you about this assignment, is that it was very fun to do, and it allowed me to learn more about the Civil War while working in Microsoft Word.
