I started my Serra career in the first grade. My teacher was Mrs. Miske. The people that helped me feel welcome were Megan W. My friend was Julie T. That year we would do all sorts of fun stuff. Some things we did were: taking the Serra bear home, doing the exchange gifts for Christmas, we had story time and we got to watch all sorts of different movies. This year we also had a Christmas Pageant and I thought it was fun at the time.
In second grade I had Mrs. Balsis. She was a cool teacher because she taught very well and we had "Share day." We had our First Communion and it was very exciting for me and we did the May crowning of Mary. We had our dinosaur projects and I made a cool dinosaur which I made out of plaster and toilet paper rolls. We also got our First Reconciliation so we could confess our sins to the Lord.
In third grade, I had Mrs. Landry. She made learning fun because she would talk about her dog and she would relate to him in the things she was teaching us. We would watch a lot of Math and English movies which were really catchy and that's how I learned my multiplication tables and my conjunctions. I also remember having the Hawaiian party. It was fun because we had it for the whole day and we got to watch cool movies and have Hawaiian foods and drinks. We also did these cool dot characters that I loved.
In fourth grade, I had Mrs. Povey. She made learning fun by giving every body different jobs in the classroom and she decorated the class room in Looney-Toon stuff. We went to Heritage Hill which was kind of weird because we had to wear their funky cloths. I got the privilege of playing their piano which was really hard to play because you had to use the pedal so sound would come out. We also did our mission project. I got Mission San Francisco Solano. I had fun doing that because I made a cool model of my mission. We also went on the Pilgrim which I thought was totally cool and we got to sleep on the ship. We also did the Solar System project and I put my Solar System in a shoe box. We also did a pioneer project and I had to look up William Campbell.
In fifth grade, I had Ms. Lipka. She made learning fun because she would tell us about her personal life. This was the first year that we got to participate in sports. I made the basket ball team and I was so freakilishously happy!!! I had tons of fun because Ms. Lipka would do these drawings in class and she would give us all these cool stuff like stickers, key chains, and posters and stuff. It was also a fun year because we got to do fun activities and we laughed a lot in her class. That year we did the Stations of the Cross but I wasn't in it. We also did a My Hero Project. My hero was Father Ken. We also did some poles and graphs and a Presidential election.
In sixth grade, I had Passero. My most memorable moment was when we went to Science camp where we met many of our friends. It was fun because we went on hikes and we made new friends and we ate with the other school. It was cool because we got a chance to make friends with the people in out cabins. We went on a lot of hikes which were really tiring because it was really hot and humid there. We also sang a ton of songs which kind of got annoying after a while. But overall, we had lots of fun! We also did a Natural Wonders project. My group did Victoria Falls and we made some fun stuff.
In seventh grade we had Mrs. Marsh and Mrs. Muzzy. My most memorable moment was when we did the play, "Bye Bye Birdie". I was part of the stage crew and I did the lighting for the play. That was really fun!!! That year we had lots of fun because we had a lot of cool teachers like Mrs. Muzzy. She was cool because she would make jokes about things. We also had Mrs. Tilton and she was cool because we did cool activities and group projects. Finally we had Mrs. Matsukane. She made learning fun because she would give us interesting stories that would relate to what we are learning. This year we also did an Animal project which was really fun for me to do because I did a hamster.
My teachers made learning fun because they would give us prizes and stuff. They would have a variety of ways of teaching us and we had a good time. When I was little, I thought teachers were just there to teach but, now I know them as my councilors and leaders. ;)
What I remember most was all my friends I have had through the years here at Serra. Some friends include: Allie M., Lauren O., Megan W., Mallory W., Emily M., Julie T., Andrius S., Stephanie G., Christina M., Laura D., Kristin F., John E., Kurt L., and a ton more.
This year I am in the eighth grade. My teacher is Mrs. Budhabhatti. This year we had Leader ship camp which was really fun because we did a lot of cool activities. I am looking forward to meeting more friends and getting to know my teachers more than I do now. I'm also looking forward to graduating!
Three things I do well are:
1. Playing basket ball because I've been playing since I was like 5 years old.
2. Playing Soft ball because I just like to play and watch it. I think it is a really fun sport
3. Playing the piano. even thought I don't like, I guess it works out.
Three things I would like to improve about myself are:
1. to be a nicer person because I have to learn to control my self and keep cool
2. not to nag people because I can get really annoying really fast.
3. to play my sports better because I want to make it on the high school basket ball team and the soft ball team and plus, I really like sports.
Three things I enjoy doing are:
1. playing basket ball because its a good pass time.
2. playing softball because I like to play it with my dad.
3. hanging out with friends because I like to socialize and get to know people more than I do now.
A goal I have for this year is to graduate from eighth grade and go to high school. I would like to make the basket ball team and the soft ball team. I wish to make more friends this year. I think this year will be a successful year because I have to many goals I would like to accomplish.
I will achieve this goal by:
1. focusing in my school work by not watching TV while I do my home work and not listening to the radio.
2. paying attention during class by focusing on what the teacher is saying than rather what some one else is dong.
3. practicing my sports more often so I can become a better athlete.
Three careers that I am interested in are:
1. becoming a veterinarian because I like animals I think it would be fun to help animals.
2. getting into the WNBA because it would be coo l to play professional basket ball.
3. to become some sort of doctor because I guess the medical field would be interesting.
Three school subjects related to my career interests and why are:
1. math because it is important to have good calculations and to have good measurements.
2.PE because I can get into good shape by running and doing exercises.
3.Biology because it is important to know about the human body.
This year I have learned to stay positive about all circumstances and we should always look ahead instead of what happened before. I always said to my self what happens happens and I have learned to work around those things which has made me a stronger person emotionally. I also learned that life is not only about you but also the people around you. I also think that I matured as a person and I really understand things better. some people say that we should take life as it leads us and I think that's a good way of being a person of positive morals,
