"For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life."

1I started my Serra career in the first grade. My teacher was Mrs. Miske. The people that helped me feel welcome were Stephanie S., Megan W., Brooke F., and Annie J. My best friend was Stephanie S. My teacher made learning fun. She brought the stories she read to us to life by letting us act them out and make a play out of them. We acted out Little Red Riding Hood. She also made learning fun by letting us dress up for special occasions such as the week of Thanksgiving, Halloween, and St. Patrick's Day. What I remember most about first grade was when Mrs. Miske got a call from her son telling her that he got into Notre Dame and she started crying. I also remember the Serra Bear. Mrs. Miske picked one person every week to take home Serra Bear and write about what you did in a journal. When I took Serra Bear home, I took pictures with him and took him to my dance classes. First grade was also the year that my little brother Kyle was born. I remember that I brought in blue lollipops in for my class that said, "It's a Boy!"
2My next year at Serra was second grade. My teacher was Mrs. Blaine. My best friends in second grade were Stephanie S., Maura M., Megan and Mallory W., Katie K., Mandy N., and Amanda B. What I remember most about second is the mailbox with candy in it. If you did something good, you got to pick something out of the candy box. Second grade was also our first year of switching classes. Well that's what we called it, but the teacher actually went from class to class and taught her lesson. In second grade, we had the dinosaur projects. We all had to make our own creation of what we thought a dinosaur looked like. I remember that my dinosaur was purple with green spikes coming from the top. That was probably my most memorable moment of second grade. Second grade was also the year I received my First Holy Communion and became closer to God.
3Third grade was the next step for me in growing up at Serra. My third grade teacher was Mrs. Diemer. I remember that she was a piano player. In third grade, we watched the Toad and Frog movies. My best friend was Stephanie S., again. My most memorable part of third grade was all of the parties we had. I loved Hawaiian Day where we got to dress up in Hawaiian clothes and drink tropical drinks. I also loved Fat Tuesday. Fat Tuesday (Mardi Gras) was the day when the whole class brought food in and ate it all. The whole day we got to eat. Then at the end of all the fun, we got to walk around to all the classes and show them our masks that we had made. That was probably my favorite part of third grade. Third grade was the year when we started doing dances in P.E. I remember my group was Stephanie Sirianni , Kelsey Kraft, and me. We did our dance to "I Want Candy."
4Fourth grade was my favorite grade in elementary school. Mrs. Povey was my teacher. She always used to say that she would nail us to the wall if we didn't stop talking. She had the Looney Toon signs with different characters on the ceiling above our tables. Fourth grade was the year we went on the Pilgrim. I was in the Rigger crew. Our job was to go on the masts and change the sails. My whole crew was so scared that we would have to climb the tall masts. We didn't have to. Instead we went into a room on the dock and climbed fake masts. It was so fun that we didn't want to go back to the ship. I remember that Shayne Caruso had to eat an onion because he was talking. My crew had the best watch. We had 10 -12. During our watch, we had to write in a book about what we saw. Andrew Meehan got in trouble from Mrs. Povey because he was talking and sitting down during his watch. I also remember that they put Mrs. Povey up on a swing sort of thing and she said if we got her down that she would give us a week of no homework. Well, we got her down, but she still gave us homework. Later that year, we went to Heritage Hill. We got to dress up to fit the part. We also all got names. My name was Regina Aguilar. We played games and did some school work on the boards that they used in the olden days. Stephen Hansen got in trouble so he had to put his nose in a circle the teacher drew on the board, and hold two books out at his sides. That was also a really fun field trip. The school play was Annie. I was in the play. My part was Tessie, an orphan. I got to be in all four performances because the other person who played Tessie left the school. It was really fun. The biggest part of fourth grade was the mission project. My mission was San Antonio de Padua. I made a scrapbook on it. We also did a Pioneer Project in fourth grade. My pioneer was Maria Amparo Ruiz De Burton. In the summer of fourth grade, going into fifth, I remember I was at my friend Mandy Nader's house. Well, we were riding Mandy's dirt bikes and I wasn't watching where I was going, and I crashed into a cement mixer. I had a huge gash on my chin and I was supposed to get stitches but I was too scared . Later that night, my dad came and picked me up from her house and I went home. Fourth grade was my favorite year of elementary school!
5Fifth grade was a big year. It was a big year for me because it was the first time we got to play sports for school. Since I love sports, that was big for me. I played basketball on Ms. Lipka's "B" team. My fifth grade teacher was Ms. Peale. That year we did the living Stations of the Cross. I was a townsperson. We did a power point presentation on them. The play in fifth grade was Peter Pan. I was Wendy. I remember that we couldn't really fly so we had to jump on trampolines. I had so much fun in that play. Fifth grade was the year that we went to the water district for a field trip. It smelled so bad. I remember that I didn't want to drink out of the water bottles that they gave us because I thought that they used the gross water. Another field trip we went on in fifth grade was to the Aquarium of the Pacific. We got to touch the rays and I was scared. My favorite part of the fieldtrip was the jellyfish. I loved the ones that changed color and lighted up. I was sad when we had to leave. Fifth grade was my first year of competitive cheer. I was on Team USA. I had some friends going into it. Coming out of that year, I had many more. I met my best friend through that tam. Her name is Kim Swenson. She is now on my California Elite team and is going on to Santa Margarita with me. That year, Ms. Peale was in charge of the yearbook. We got to work on it and help her put the pictures together. It was really fun. One time, we got to stay in at lunch and help her and she got us pizza. That was the best. That year we got to do the Presidential Elections. I think I voted for George Bush. For my favorite candy, I think I put Jolly Ranchers. We won that one. I definitely voted for pizza for my favorite food. We also did a Hero Project in technology. My hero was my mom. The biggest part of fifth grade was the State Reports. My state was Louisiana. I liked Louisiana because it has Mardi Gras. That was really fun. I remember for Walk Through America. I made a pasta with really good sauce. it was so much fun that night because after everyone left, we got to walk around with our friends and look at other people's posters. We also got to try their food. That was probably the best part. I remember that my poster was set up right next to Emily Kaszton. We shared each other's food the whole time. I also remember that my best friends, Maura M., Stephanie S, And Emily K. and I were all set up in a row so we talked and laughed the whole time. It was so fun. Fifth grade was a fun year.
6Sixth grade, the first year of middle school. This year the girls got to wear skirts and green shirts. My homeroom teacher was Mrs. Tilton. The other teachers we had were Mrs. Fiore, Mrs. Passero, and Mr. Adair. For our main field trip we went to sixth grade science camp. It was a blast! I had a fun cabin. My really good friends Stephanie and Mallory were in my cabin. Our counselors name was Dawn. The play in sixth grade was Cinderella. I was a mouse/ horse who tumbled. Channing, Erynn, and Kelly were also in it with me. It was really fun! The books we read in sixth grade were The Egypt Game and Tuck Everlasting. In technology, we did the Natural Wonder Project. In my group was Emily K., Trevor B., and Justin L. We had Mt. Kilimanjaro. In sixth grade, I was on a cheer team called Team USA. We were good and it was my second year cheering there. Our colors were red, blue, and gold. At nationals, we got to the finals and placed sixth out of thirty two teams. It was so much fun. Sixth was a great year to start off my middle school career.
7In seventh grade my teacher was Mrs. Matsukane. She was the best teacher. She taught literature, english, and social studies. In the beginning of the year, Mrs. Marsh was our science teacher and Mrs. Tilton was our religion teacher. Later that year, Mrs. Muzzy came to replace Mrs. Marsh. Mrs. Muzzy taught us both science and social studies. In seventh grade, Mr. C took us on a retreat and taught us the values of life and to treat others with respect. Seventh grade was the first year of dances. I was so excited! For the first dance, Maura M. came over to my house before and we got ready together. For the second dance, it was a Hawaiian theme. I was the Hawaiian queen person who asked the eighth graders questions. Michael R. was the king who also asked questions. Each class had a king and queen of their own. It was really fun. Inside, their was coconut bowling and a slushy machine. Maura M. was my best friend in seventh grade. Mrs. Matsukane let us sit next to each other. That was a big mistake. We could never stop talking or laughing. Finally, she moved me to the front and left Maura in the back. In literature, we read The Bronze Bow, Rikki Tikki Tavi, and The Hobbit. In science, we did many projects. We did the Tree Project and The Animal Kingdom Project. For the Animal Kingdom Project, my animal was a giraffe. Seventh grade was also the year Taylor C. came to our school. She became one of my really good friends. Seventh grade was a great year for me.
8This year I am in eighth grade. So far it has been a
really good year for me. We started off the year by going to Leadership Camp.
That was so much fun. The girls in my cabin were Taylor C, Caroline B, and Julie
H. Our counselor was really nice and so much fun. We had a dance and we got to
do fun activities. I didn't want to go home. This year I played volleyball. I
was
on Coach Todd's "A" team. It was really fun. I am cheering this year at
Cal- Elite. I love
it. It is so much fun! We have gone to a few competitions and have placed done
really well. We have great coaches and fun girls on our team. At the end of this
year, I am going to be trying out for the Santa Margarita cheer team. I hope Cal
Elite will prepare me for the team there. I play basketball this year
also. I am on Coach D's team. I am with my two best friends, Maura and Caroline.
It is really fun. I'm excited to see how the rest of my year turns out. I hope
the end is as good as the beginning. I can't wait for graduation and going to
Disneyland. I'm so excited!
Three things I do well are:
1.Cheer, because all the girls in my family cheer or have cheered so it basically runs in my blood. I also have been cheering for three years and I have improved a lot. I love it because you have to be able to cheer, tumble, dance, and stunt and I love to do all of those!
2.Tumbling, because you have to tumble in cheer and I have gotten really good at it. It is also challenging and I like to be challenged. Sometimes when I am mad or sad about something, I can tumble and I will feel better.
3.Surf, because my brother and dad surf and I have gotten good at it. My dad taught my brother and I how to surf when we were little, so it is special to me. I also love to be in the ocean. Also, the waves clam me so sometimes, when I am sad, I can go out and sit on my board and think about the problems I am having and it makes me feel better.
Three things I would like to improve about myself are:
1. To excel in sports.
2. To get better grades this year.
3. That I will be able to listen to my parents.
Three things I enjoy doing are:
1. I love to cheer and tumble.
2. I especially love going to the beach whether I am surfing, body surfing, swimming, or just laying out and getting tan.
3. I am very competitive so I love to play sports, no matter which one it is.
A goal I have for this year is: To get better grades.I will achieve this goal by:
1. Studying hard so I can get good grades on tests.
2. Take good notes so I can study the right materials.
3. Listening to my teachers so I can know what to expect on the tests.
Three careers that I am interested in are:
1. Working for the cheer company, USA (United Spirit Association) because I love to cheer and most of all the women in my family have worked for USA. I want to work at the camps and competitions first, then I want to work in the office.
2. To become a fashion designer because I love clothes and fashion. I would like to have my own line of clothes. I want to make clothes for famous people.
3. I want to become a pro surfer and be sponsored by ROXY. I also want to be good enough to be able to surf pipeline one day.
Three school subjects related to my career interests and why are:
1. A school subject related to working for USA is physical education because you have to be fit and strong in the activities you do when cheering. You also could benefit from technology because if you don't work at camps or competitions
2. I could use art for fashion designing because you have to be creative in the clothes you draw and you have to be a good drawer so the people can understand what you are trying to illustrate.
3. A school subject related to becoming a pro surfer is P.E. Physical education can help me because it builds endurance and you need strength when you paddle out.
This year I have learned about a lot of things.
