2003 - 2004 School Year
Religion I chose this piece of work because it taught me about both my faith and technology. I think it is a great idea to learn on the computer because you learn two things at once. I also think that when I have to find the information and then make my own project I learn the information more than I would if I just heard the teacher reading it in class. From this assignment I learned how our church changed from the Vatican 2 Council. I also learned about Pope John XXIII and Pope Paul VI. Although this information isn't very important for my everyday life, I think it is important for me as a catholic. Now, whenever I go to church I understand why things are how they are. One thing I want to tell you about this assignment is that on PowerPoint you can make every page look different by changing the format of the page or by using pictures or different fonts. I think this is good because later it makes it look more professional and makes it look t\like you took a lot of time to make it.

Language Arts I chose this piece of work because I feel it shows how much my writing has grown from sixth grade till now. After reading my essays from the sixth grade and then reading this essay I realize how much I have actually learned. This essay shows how my vocabulary and sentence structure has grown. From this assignment I learned that you should not use the same word twice in a paragraph. If you use a wide variety of words it makes the essay much more enjoyable to read. I also learned that if you think about what you would be like in that situation it is a lot easier to write about something. One thing I want to tell you about this assignment is that you can relate any two things by using simile or metaphors. I also want to tell you that we should all be thankful for the freedom our founding father gave us. This essay made me realize how many people gave up their lives for the freedom of their ancestors.

Math I chose this piece of work because I thought is was cool that you could see what your weight is on other planets. From this assignment I learned that you can express large numbers in a shorter way by adding an E after the number and + or - the amount of spaces you move the decimal to the right or the left. (Example - 134 = 1.34E + 02) One thing I want to tell you is that when you tell someone your weight you should tell them it as if you were on Jupiter because you weigh the least on that planet. I chose this piece of work because it taught me the difference between each metric measurement. From this assignment I learned that you can let your computer do your computation for you. All you have to do is type what you want to be computed. One thing I want to tell you about this assignment is that Orange county, which is 407 sq. miles, is also 105,413 hectares.

Science I chose this piece of work because it made me aware of all the oil pollution in American. I was very surprised to see how much oil pollution there is each year. From this assignment I learned that you can add bookmarks to images. I was able to add a return bookmark to the pink stars in my project. One thing I want to tell you about this assignment is that anyone can help lower the amount of oil pollution. I chose this piece of work because it made me understand about what is around us. I was very surprised to see that most things are made up of more than 1 element. This
assignment taught me that everything is made up of an element and they make
it able for us to make many things. |
Social Studies I chose this piece of work because it taught me about our American History. It made me realize what caused the Civil War and what happened during it. I learned about all the battles and know understand how much work each side did. Having a greater knowledge of the Civil War also gives me greater respect for our president because I realized how much work Abraham Lincoln had to do during the Civil War. From this assignment I learned all the ways you can make timelines. I learned that you can make timelines on a horizontal line, a vertical line, or on no line at all. I thought this was cool because than you can choose anyone that best fits your project. One thing I want to tell you about this assignment is that you can insert a page border and make your pages more decorated. I added a patriotic border to the side of my page to make it look a lot nicer. I feel that by adding borders it make your projects look like you took a lot of time when really it only take about two more minutes.
