“A Courageous
Leader”
Can Johnny survive being a courageous
leader during the Revolutionary War? In Johnny Tremain, Johnny becomes a heroic
leader when he supports his friends during the British attacks of the Revolutionary
War. Johnny’s bravery is very difficult by supporting his friends through the
battle.
Johnny bravely helps Rab while he suffers
after the attack. “Johnny had been fearful that Rab would be suffering, crying
out, struggling like other wounded men had seen afraid that with death so close
something of the aloof dignity he had always had would be shattered,”(p.249)
Johnny shows courage when he stays by Rab, who suffers from a wound during the
Revolutionary War. Johnny acts in a leadership role by trying to make Rab feel better
from the British attacks. Johnny demonstrates his bravery while assisting Rab
in his suffering.
Johnny uses his brave leadership when he goes
on the ship at the Boston Tea Party. “Johnny disguises himself and goes on the
ship and dumps out all of the tea with the Son of Liberty,”(p.124)
Johnny reveals bravery by sneaking on the ship. Johnny audaciously risks his
life. Johnny’s boldness is helpful during the British attacks.

presents his leadership many times during the British attacks of the
Revolutionary War. Johnny’s bravery was helpful during the war. Johnny bravely
helps defeat the British.
