~Paige Palmer~

Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, (love) is not pompous, it is not inflated,

It is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury,

it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth.

It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

What does it mean to me?

Before I came to Serra Catholic I went to Meryhill in Coto de Caza that is were I started my formal education.  The school I went to ended at third grade and I needed a school to go to.  Since my brother had been accepted to Serra , It is easier for siblings to get in.  After I learned that I was excepted to Serra I was nervous but excited with all the thoughts of memories I would receive from Serra Catholic School.

I started my Serra career in the fourth grade.  My teacher was Mrs. Povey . The people that helped me feel welcome were Maura M and Emily K.  My best friend was Emily R whom I had met at tennis camp that summer when we realized we were going to the same school and that we had the same teacher. This excited Emily and I and we were ready to enjoy our year at Serra.  In fourth grade we went on the pilgrim and learned how sailors lived.  Also we learned about the missions and planets .We went on a field trip to Heritage Hill. In the middle of the year I  was cast as the role as Annie in the play "Annie" and I had so much fun.  For the mission project we made missions and for the planet we made a solar system.  Those two projects were fun. We also Made internet Pioneer projects.  My teacher made learning fun. She used Looney Tunes playing cards to engage us in questions.  She also would make projects fun by adding interesting activities to them.

In fifth grade I had Mrs. Peale in her class she used activities to engage us in the material. Also she loved to free write she thought that free writing was a way to express and show your creativity.  In fifth grade we did Walk through America and I was a sailor.  We also had a Presidential Elections . Along with free writing we learned about the 50 states we were each assigned a state and my state was Wyoming.  Once we had a state we had to create a poster board and then a report for out state.  After the hard work was done it was time for fun we had a taste of America night were we all made a food item from out state and served it for others to enjoy. Also we made a Hero project and then we did the living stations of the cross .  In fifth grade I played slightly soiled in "Peter Pan".  We took field trips to the Aquarium of the Pacific and to the Santa Margarita water district.

After fifth we had sixth grade and in six I had Mrs.Fiore.  In Mrs. Fiore's class we learned that math is fun and her love for the state of Pennsylvania and there football team.  Also in sixth grade we met Mrs.Tilton and learned the true love of religion.  She showed us how important out faith is to us.  After learning all this my favorite was Sixth grade Science camp which was a blast.  We went up to a location called mile high pines and learned the beauty of nature.  Up at science camp we also  bonded with our fellow students that strengthened our relationships. In sixth grade tech we made our Natural Wonders project.

In 7th grade I met a teacher named Mrs. Matsukane. After meeting her we met her love of language.  Mrs. Matsukane taught language to us with so much love and compassion but she wasn't all serious she had many funny jokes that made you smile if you were in a bad mood.  That year we had our first dances both of our dances were so much fun and it brought the students in a bond. That year we also had a retreat.  That year we read the Bronze Bow and the Hobbit.  Both books opened a world of imagination for me.  At the end of the year we went to Medieval Times and had a blast. The tech projects that year were cells and Animal project .

This year I am in the Eighth grade.  I am looking forward to all the memories from my fellow students to start unwinding.  Also I have Mrs. Palmiotto this year and I am happy to be taught by an interesting teacher that engages every one with activities and games.  Which makes learning fun. On the week of September 29 we are going to leadership camp which will bring us together once again. My Coat of arms.

What I remember most  was that Serra Catholic was different from any other school I had been to before.  Including the fact that Serra cares about every single student and treats them with care.

This year I have learned:

Home life

My father is a lawyer at Gibson Dunn and Crutcher.  Who is married to my stepmother Mary palmer who also works at G D and C.  Then there is my mother Julie Uzzi who is a lawyer in her own firm called Palafox law. She is a true entrepreneur. Now not all my family is lawyers for instance my step dad he is in pharmaceuticals. My brother and sister Max palmer and Caitlyn Uzzi also go to Serra.
