Vatican II

I chose this piece of work because it is a really neatly organized slide show. Also, it is very informative about the effects of Vatican II on the church. I think that everyone should know about the changes the Vatican II council brought upon the Church.

From this assignment I learned about what the church was like before Vatican II. So many big changes were made during this council, such as the language change from Latin, the direction of the altar and the removal of the communion rail, which all led to a more understandable mass. I also learned about the leaders of Vatican II, such a s Pope John XXIII and Pope Paul VI.

One thing I want to tell you about this assignment is that my whole class learned a lot about how much Vatican II has helped us with our lives.

Language Arts

Johnny Tremain Essay

I chose this piece of work because it is a great example of my writing abilities. It is the only essay we've really written this year, and I cant wait to get a chance to write more. Writing is definitely one of my favorite things to do in school because it comes very naturally. My grade was and 81 percent mostly because of repeated words and punctuation, but I reviewed my essay and changed the mistakes that I had made. I also rearranged many of the sentences to make them sound better. Now I believe this essay is one of my best.

From this assignment I learned many things about the Revolutionary War. The book was about a boy living in Boston at the time of the War, and he was standing up for his rights as an American citezen. He worked delivering a paper to the Torries and learned  lot about the views and opinions of those people. He even took part in the Boston Tea Party!

One thing I want to tell you about this assignment is that we worked in groups to come up with the topic sentence. I think that was a great thing because I learned the writing styles of others and got some ideas about how to write my essay. The people in my group were Mallory, Katie, Mandy, and Stephanie.

Math

Metric Conversions

I chose this piece of work because it helped me to understnad metric conversions, which are very confusing.

From this assignment I learned how to do equations on the computer without computing numbers in my head.

One thing I want to tell you about this assignment is that I learned how tall Mt. Everest was.

Science

Oil Pollution

I chose this piece of work because I believe that it is very important to realize the effect that our pollution has on the earth.

From this assignment I learned how to create "return to" links to allow people to return to the first page.

One thing I want to tell you about this assignment is that i learned that you can recycle used oil at recycling plants.

Social Studies

Civil War Timeline

I chose this piece of work because It explains so many of the important events that happen during the Civil War. It is also one of my better pieces of social studies  technology work. The timeline states each significant event of the Civil War and explains what effect they had on the people, government, and outcome of the war.  Because it is presented in a neatly and orderly fashion, it is easy to distinguish one date from another.

From this assignment I learned so much about the revolutionary events of the Civil War. This war decided a major issue in our country at the time: whether or not there should be slavery. The North was against slavery, and the South was pro- slavery. There was so much tension in the country between the North and South that war broke out. As far as technology goes, I reinforced my hyperlink skills and making works cited.

One thing I want to tell you about this assignment is that we did the dates even before we had learned about the topic in class. I believe we all did a really excellent job of acquiring information.
