Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, (love) is not pompous, it is not inflated,
5
it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury,
6
it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth.

It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things

1 Corinthians 13:1-7

I started my Serra career in the 4th grade.  My teacher was Mrs. Finn.   The people that helped me feel welcome were Brigette M. and Carrie M.  My best friends were Dayeanne, Carrie, and Ryann. My teacher also really made my new transition to Serra enjoyable and easy.

Mrs. Finn  made learning fun.  She read us the book series "The Plant That Ate Dirty Socks." She also showed us a lot of movies and videos about what we were learning in Science. My favorite part of Science class was learning about volcanoes. For Social Studies, I had Mrs. Povey. I had a really good time learning about the history of California and the missions. Our main project in 4th grade was the mission project, and my mission was San Carlos Borremeo. During Christmas Break, my family and I drove up to Carmel to visit my mission, and I used a lot of the information I gained there in my project. What I remember most about fourth grade was going to the Pilgrim for a field trip. We had to do most of the things real sailors did. We even had to do night watch! I had a lot of fun. In fourth grade, I participated in the play "Annie." I was part of the chorus. Even though I did not have a main part, I had a lot of fun with the other people in the chorus learning all of the songs. I sat next to Laura and whenever I would sing she would tickle me because she thought it was funny when I squeaked. In technology, we did a Pioneer project and a mission project.

My fifth grade teacher was Mrs. Peterson. I had a lot of fun learning about The United States, health, and writing. Before Easter, the 5th grade performed the Stations of the Cross, and I played the part of Mary Magdalene. It took us a while to get it right, but eventually it was perfect. We preformed for all of the classes and for our parents. My favorite activity of the year was the State Project. My state was Illinois, and my dad provided me with a lot of information since he was born and raised there. I built a model of the Lincoln home out of cardboard, and was very proud of it. I also baked bannana bread because that was my governor's favorite food. To show off all of our hard work, we had a big event called Taste of America. All the students set up their projects and put out their food for people to taste. Our parents really enjoyed it, and so did we. My favorite feild trip in fifth grade was going to the Getty Museum. We got to ride on a very nice bus, and learned a lot about art. We read two books in 5th grade: Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of Nimh, and Caddie Woodlawn. I made a lot of new friends that year, like Channing, Mallory, Katie, and Mandy. In fifth grade, the play was Peter Pan. I really wanted a speaking part this year because the last year I had not had one, and I did! I got the part of one of the Lost Boys. I was one of the twins, and Brigette M. was the other twin. I had a lot of fun and really enjoyed getting up on the stage and acting, which was a new experience for me. In technology, we did a Stations of the Cross Project, My Hero Project, and a Presidential Election Project.

Sixth grade was my first year of middle school. My homeroom teacher was Ms. Passero, and my other teachers were Mrs. Fiore and Mrs. Tilton. The biggest event that happened in 6th grade was the terrorist attack on September 11th. 3 planes crashed into the World Trade Centers and the Pentagon. This was a big deal for all of us because it effected our lives and the lives of the people in the country. In 6th grade we learned about Ancient Civilizations, Jane Schaffer, and many more things. In Literature we read the books The Egypt Game and Tuck Everlating.  Tuck Everlasting was one of the best books I have ever read. In sixth grade we started learning how to write essays using the Jane Schaeffer method, and it wasn't very fun. In sixth grade, I Played on the girl's basketball team. this was a big deal to me, since I really liked playing basketball. My coach was Mr. Russell, and the girls on my team were me, Mandy, Katie, Brooke, Natalie N, Natalie R, Alexis, Kristen, Jenna, and Alexa. When I first joined the team I wasn't very good, but by the end of the season I was playing very well.  Our team got 2nd place in our division. In sixth grade, we went to 6th grade science camp at Mile High Pines. My friends in my cabin were Mandy, Katie, and Allison. The funniest thing that happened in our cabin was when Katie woke up in the middle of the night and slept walked. We learned a lot about the things we were learning about in school. The friends who were in my cabin and In Technology class we did a Natural Wonder Project.

Seventh Grade was a very  eventful year. In technology, we did an animal project. My animal was the sea otter. We also went on a retreat to the dome with Mr.C. We learned a lot about bullying and the harm it can cause in peoples lives. It really made me realize that I need to watch what I say and do because I may accidentaly hurt someone's feelings. In 7th grade, we read 2 books: The Hobbit and The Bronze Bow. The Hobbit was really good. For our project, Mallory and I made a scrapbook about the book. We worked SO hard. We traded off every two days or so and adds our own stuff to the Scrapbook. We worked for like 3 hours on it togethger! And we only got a 92. We were really mad. The Bronze Bow was about a man who lives at the time of Jesus. I really enjoyed learning about the life of Jesus from a perspective other the disciples.

This year I am in the 8th grade.  At the beginning of the year, we went to Leadership Camp.I had an awesome cabin. It was me, Mallory, Katie, Mandy, Megan, Channing, Ryann, Maura, Montana, Emily, and Stephanie. our cabin was out in the boonies on a cliff. Our leader was Crayola and she was very wierd. I have so many great memories from camp because it was such a blast. We had a dance, played games, sang songs, and learned a lot of cool things. We even did karaoke! The food was much better than science camp, which was a relief because the science camp food was reeeaaallllyy bad. Overall, Leadership Camp was my favorite thing in 8th grade. This year in Social Studies we learned about the history of our country, the U.S.A. In Math and Science, we learned a whole lot of really hard things. In English, we learned grammar and Jane Schaffer. In Religion, we learned about church history and the book of Acts. I was a part of the student council as a member at large. It was a great experience for me to be in this leadership role and set an example for the rest of the children at this school. We got to organize pasta dinners, Santa Grams, and the Spring Dance, which was a huge sucess. The theme was Midevil, which I didn't think would be good, but it turned out okay. This year was so much fun but I can not wait to graduate.

Three things I do well are:

1. cheer and gymnastics- I like cheer because I am able to display a lot of different skills and get a good workout at the same time. My favorite thing to do in cheerleading is tumbling, because I have been doing tumbling and gymnastics since I was really little and it is definately my favorite thing to do.  I also love the rush I get from performing at cheer competitions. I cheer at California Elite

2. track- Running is another one of the things I am good at. I never really discovered my talent until second grade when my P.E. coach made me run against the boys because I had gone to the bathroom purposely to miss the girl's race. I was really mad and  wanted to make the coach mad and show the boys that they weren't all that, so I went for it. I ran as fast as I could, and I came in 3rd out of all the boys! I was so excited. Whenever I run now, I think of that experience, and I realize that by pushing myself, I can do anything I want to.

3. basketball- I am not very good at basketball, but I really enjoy playing that sport. I tried out in fifth grade and didn't make the team, so I continued playing throughout the year and ended up starting for my team in 6th grade. I like playing basketball and watching basketball on TV, because it is such a fun, exciting sport with a lot of action and motion.

Three things I would like to improve about myself are:

1. To become closer to God.- This is very important goal for me, because at the moment, I do not know much about God and the life of Jesus. To become closer to God I will do three things. The first thing I will do is pay more attention in religion class. Mrs. Tilton knows a lot about Jesus and is very commited to helping us learn more about God and our faith. I think I can learn a lot from her. The second thing I can do is to actually READ the bible when I am doing my acts worksheets in religion class. The third thing I will do is pay more attention at church. My church is St. Kilians.

2. To be kinder to my friends and family.- Sometimes  my mom and dad really make me mad, and I get really angry at them. Even though the things they do are for my own good, I still treat them with disrespect sometimes. I should try to show them more respect and care since they provide me with everything I have.

3. To be healthier.- My mom is a really healthy person, and I really think I should be more like her. She eats really healthy foods, and knows what us and isn't good for you. My mom also runs three miles a day or goes to the club to work out for an hour. She always tells me how good she feels after she runs, and I want to feel like that. I am not unhealthy, but I think i would feel a lot better If I followed my mom's example.

Three things I enjoy doing are:

1. Going to the beach- The beach is one of my favorite places to go. I love listening to the waves and smelling the scent of the ocean. I also enjoy swimming, bodyboarding, and bogey boarding.

2. Doing things with friends- I really enjoy spending time with my friends. We go to the movies and go shopping. My favorite thing about hanging out with friends is laughing! I probably laugh too much, and sometimes I can't stop. I always have a good time spending time with my friends.

3. reading

My main goal this year is to improve my grades and do the absolute best I can in school.

These are ways I will achieve this goal:

1. I will try hard to pay attention and not talk in class. I really like to talk, so sometimes it is hard for me to not talk in class. I sometimes get in trouble for this because it distracts me and others from what the teacher is teaching.

2. I will do homework right away and not wait until the last minute. I sometimes tell myself that I will do my homework later that night and I am stuck doing it at the last minute. My homework would be better quality if I took more time to do it earlier, rather than procrastinating and rushing to do it.

3. I will try to get to bed on time. This is important because if I do not get to bed on time, I will not have enough energy for schoolwork the next day. If I do not have enery to do the schoolwork

Three careers that I am interested in are:

1. Teacher

2. Doctor or Vet

3. Fashion Designer

Three school subjects related to my career interests and why are:

1. Science will really help me in becoming a doctor or vet because you have to know everything possible about the human or animal body and I need to learn the basic things about science before I learn college-level science.

2. My elective, leadership, will help me in becoming a teacher because as a teacher you have to have control over your students and you have to be able to guide the students to do the right thing.

3. All the subjects will help me in becoming a teacher because teachers need to be able to teach a variety of subjects so they can answer kid's questions.

This year I have learned
