Religion

I chose this piece of work because it explains Vatican II in a way that many can understand. I love to work in PowerPoint and this project was done in PowerPoint so I feel that it shows off my strengths on the computer.

From this assignment I learned the changes that occurred as a result of Vatican II. Before this project, I didn't know anything about Vatican II or Pope John XXIII. I also learned how to rotate a picture or object.

One thing I want to tell you about this assignment is that I used several hyperlinks throughout the project. I rotated several objects, and I am proud of the work I did. I also hyperlinked the different words on the title page and I 

Language Arts

Johnny Tremain

I chose this essay because it I really liked the book on which I wrote it. It is also the only full essay that I have written so far in the eighth grade. The book Johnny Tremain was not difficult to write on because of all of the themes that it has woven into the main lot.

From this assignment I learned how to write a COMPLETELY structured essay. I learned how to give up free writing and write creatively with a lot of limits. I also learned how to organize my thoughts into an essay so that they make more sense and are read easily.

One thing I want to tell you about this assignment is that I will most likely write this way for  many years to come. I am still learning how to better organize my thoughts and to use more descriptive words, but it is a better way of writing informative and persuasive essays.

Math

Matter

I chose this piece of work because it is a good example of combining Math and technology. Instead ;of having to do the calculations myself, I use the program Excel to calculate it for me. 

From this assignment I learned how I can 'teach' the computer a formula and auto fill the rest of the cells after doing the first one myself.

One thing I want to tell you about this assignment is that I enjoy working in Excel and that the project looks more difficult than it seems.

Science

Oil Pollution

I chose this piece of work because I worked especially hard on it. I think that it is a good science and technology combo.

From this assignment I learned more about oil pollution and how to create put transitions in between slides.

One thing I want to tell you about this assignment is that I worked harder on this than any other project that I have done so far.

Social Studies

Civil War Timeline

I chose this piece of work because I am interested in the Civil War and I learned a lot about the war that I didn't know. I enjoyed this assignment because it was about a time period in which I am interested.

From this assignment I learned about the events that happened that lead to the war and some of the things that were a result of the war. If you click on the link to my timeline you will see the events that I felt were important . I also learned how to format pictures so they would not distort the type around it.

One thing I want to tell you about this assignment is that I worked hard on it so I could make it as perfect as possible. I hope you look at it because I  am proud of this piece of work.
