John 1:12-13

12 But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

How this verse applies to my life

I started my Serra career in the first grade.  My teacher was Mrs. Enoch.   The people that helped me feel welcome were my friends.  My best friend was Justin.  My teacher made learning fun.  She had a treasure chest with toys that we could pick a toy out of if we did something good.  What I remember most the M&M candy dispenser that we could eat out off.  I also remember sending "Flat Stanley" to a kid in a different state.

In second grade my teacher was Mrs. Blaine.  She made funny jokes that we all laughed at. It was a really fun year.  What I remember most was when her daughter Hope came into class. I also remember my first communion and reconciliation.  I was really excited.  I got to dress up in a suit for May crowning also.

In third grade my teacher was Mrs. Landry.  She had an Over the Hill party.  There were black signs that were hanging from the ceiling and they had funny sayings about turning 40.  What I remember most was the wiener dog named Frankie that she brought in to class on Fridays.  Frankie was scared of everyone so he would just run around the class trying to avoid people.  He was a really cool dog.

In fourth grade my teacher was Mrs. Finn.  I remember doing the mission project and making a model.  What I remember most was Mrs. Povey's loony tunes hanging from the ceiling.  When we said something wasn't fair,  she would say that fair was in Sacramento. I also remember going on the Pilgrim and having to eat the nasty potato stew they served us.  In computer lab I did my pioneer project on Vasco Nunez de Balboa.

In fifth grade I had Mrs. Lipka as my teacher.  I remember when she would eat and drink in class, and she would make sounds to annoy us.  I also remember when we would get tickets for doing good deeds that would go towards the drawing we had at the end of the week.  What I remember most was the State report.  My state was Washington.  At the state fair I made governor Locke's fried chicken and I made a model of the space needle and poster representing my state.  I remember when I did my hero project in computer lab.

I was really excited to start sixth grade because it was my first in middle school.  In sixth grade my teacher was Mrs. Tilton.  I remember her always talking about how Jesus is the only way to heaven and doing those Mathew worksheets.  What I remember most about sixth grade was science camp.  I remember when Mrs. Fiorre, Mrs. Tilton, Mr. Adair, and Mrs. Passerro did the skit.  I also remember the hikes we went on.  Mr. Adair spent free time in science class talking about when he was in the army.  He also spent a lot of time talking how the old school he taught at was in the ghetto, and how some of the kids were in gangs.  I remember when I made my natural wonder project in the computer lab.

In seventh grade I had Mrs. Tilton again for my teacher.  I remember when Justin Couch would scream out random things that would make everyone laugh.  It was a really fun year.  I learned a lot from Mrs. Matsukane in English and Literature.  She was really good at explaining things in ways we would understand.  I remember having to do the portfolio at the end of the year.  This was one of the best years I had at Serra.  I had a lot of fun putting on the dance for the eighth graders.  The theme was Hawaiian.  I remember when I did my animal project on a Killer Whale in computer lab.

This year I am in the eighth grade.  I am looking forward to graduation. I also enjoy being one of the oldest kids in the school. My teacher are Mrs. Budhabhatti, Mrs. Tilton, Mrs. Muzzy, and Ms. Palmiotto.   One of my favorite things was when I went to Pali Mountain for leadership camp.  I had a great time, and the food was great.  I also enjoyed the activities, like the High Ropes Course, Gilligan's Island, and Cooking.  I also went to the museum of Tolerance.
