My Coat of Arms has four sections that have symbols of things that are really important to me:
In the first corner is a cross on a hill. That represents my religion and Jesus dying on the cross for me and my sins. I am very glad to be Catholic because God came down for everyone and opened the gates of Heaven for the world.
The second corner with a theatre stage and music notes represents my love for music, singing, and acting. I have been on a stage since I was two years old whether it be because of dancing, singing, or acting. I love it.
The third corner is a football insignia of the Kansas City Chiefs. They are my favorite football team because I am from Kansas and I watch them play every Sunday they play.
The fourth corner has to do with my heritage. I am half Puerto Rican and I am very proud of it no matter what anybody says.
My first name 'Laura' means laurel-crowned and artistic. It is English, Spanish, Italian, Latin, Romanian, and Finnish. It is the feminine form of the Latin name Laurus, which meant "laurel". In ancient Rome the leaves of laurel trees were used to create victors' garlands. Saint Laura was a 9th-century Spanish martyr, a nun who was thrown into a vat of molten lead by the Moors. Another famous bearer was Laura Secord, a Canadian heroine during the War of 1812.
My middle name 'Marie' is French for bitter sea. It is French derived from the name Maria and Mary. A notable bearer of this name was Marie Antoinette, the queen of France who was executed by guillotine during the French Revolution.
My last name 'Dimler' has a very interesting background with my family. We are some-how apart of the Daimler-Chrysler car incorporation. Centuries ago, my great-grandfather fled from Germany to the United States. To hide from Germany and to make his name more 'American', he took the 'a' out of the name and kept it as Dimler.
