John 1:1-2 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. |
I started my Serra career in kindergarten. My teacher was Mrs. Smith. The people that helped me feel welcome were Brian Petri, along with many of my current friends. My best friend was Brian Petri. He was always there for me. He is the best friends I have ever had.
My teachers made learning fun. They were all very good.
My kindergarten teacher, Ms. Smith, was very kind. She always made whatever learning we did in kindergarten enjoyable. It was a blast going to school with her as my teacher. She had a dog that she brought to school sometimes. Unfortunately, her dog has passed away a few years before now. She was such a good teacher, she still remembers my name and can recognize me on the playground! This is the year I met Brian Petri. This is also the year I went on a field trip to the Crab Lab. It was fun field trip. We learned about sea life and got to touch crabs and other sea animals.
I think I remember my 1st grade teacher, Mrs. McKeehan, as wearing a dress a lot. She was always nice, and taught in a loving way. She left school because she was getting married. We did a Flat Staney Project. after reading the book "Flat Stanley", I sent my plain Flat Stanley to my big cousin in Idaho. It was then sent back to me different than before. This is the year that I joined Cub Scouts. I remember wearing a little orange shirt. This was a year full of foundations.
My 2nd grade teacher, Mrs. Blain, had to temporarily leave because of an illness with her birth. I remember that she was very aristic, and very nice. I still see her around on campous sometimes. That year I did the Dinosaur Project. Mine were small and lived on a floating island. They were also green. I was a bobcat in scouts at that time. I do not remember much about this year, unfortunately
Mrs. Deimer was I remember this one time in third grade, Brian was going to detention. Mrs. Deimer forgave him, and let him not go to the detention! I thought this was very impressive. Mrs. Deimer was strict, but she was a very effective teacher. For some weird reason, I associate the color green with my year with Mrs. Deimer. I don't know why. Maybe she wore green on the first day I saw herI was a wolf in scouts at this time.
Mrs. Sandfort was my fourth grade teacher. She was one of the most fun teachers I have ever had. She is also one of my favorite teachers. She was strict, but a very effective teacher. Mrs. Sandfort has an Irish accent. Her daughter, Aine, was on my Decathlon team. For my Decathlon, Mrs. Sandfort taught us Literature. We went to the Pilgrim this year. I don't remember what I was on the ship. We also did the Mission project. That year I reported on Mission San Raphael Archangel. I learned a lot about the mission.
My 5th grade teacher was Ms. Peale. She split us up into tables named after universities. That year we voted in our Serra Election project. This was the year that Bush and Gore were running for president. They had us anonymously state our opinion on who should be president. I voted for Bush. We also voted on other minor matters. We did a Hero Project. My hero was my dad. We also performed the Living Stations of the Cross. I'm not sure what I did in this project. I think I sung in the choir.
In sixth grade, my teacher was Mrs. Passero. She was the first teacher that used the table of contents in our notebooks. That year we went to Science Camp. That was definitely fun! The food was OK, and the activities were great. We did a Natural Wonders Project. I did a webpage on Krakatau Island. Andrius Streit, Jonathan Fernandez, Tyler Simons, and me made the page. This was a long, huge project.
In seventh grade, my teacher was Mrs. Tilton. This was the incredible that I was in the Academic Decathlon. We won the competition, and our school was proud of us. Our first science teacher, Mrs. Marsh, was eventually replaced with Mrs. Muzzy. We created our own website, the Animal Kingdom Project. We wrote about an animal of our choice. I chose the King Cobra. I think this is an amazing animal.
What I remember most in my Serra years was the time that me and my
