For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son begotten son, that whoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 |
I started my Serra career in the kindergarten. My teacher was Ms. Smith. The people that helped me feel welcome were all of my teachers and fellow students, every one was nice. My best friends were every one in my class, we were all friendly towards each other.
My teachers made learning fun. From Ms. Smith to Mrs. Muzzy, every teacher has had there own special way to make learning fun.
Ms. Smith always had fun projects for us. She semi-prepared us for our later years at Serra on the "big kids" playground. She also gave us a good learning environment. Ms. Smith also brought in her little dog for a treat, if we were good. It is freaky, 8 years later she can still recognize me on the playground and can still remember my name. I really enjoyed Ms. Smith as a teacher.
Mrs. Miske was my 1st grade teacher. 1st grade was a fun year. We had our first school play, "The Wizard of Oz". That was a cool play, I loved it, even though I never saw it. That year we did "Flat Stanley". We had to send our "Flat Stanley" to a relative. I sent it to my grandmother. Ms. Miske help and nourished my learning career. 1st grade was great.
In second grade, Mrs. Balsis was my teacher. I took a big step foreword in my religion that year. That year I had my 1st Communion and 1st Reconciliation. I remember the 1st time I received communion. Allot of people were there with me to receive communion. Afterwards we had a big party. It was nice.
Mrs. Deimer was my teacher in 3rd grade. She was new to the school, but she did really well. That year we went to the Bower Museum. We had fun there, dressing up in funny close, playing instruments, and goofing around. In scouts, I was a Bear. That was the year when Miles hit me in the face on "accident" with a flaming marshmallow. It hurt! I really enjoyed that year!
The ever famous Mrs. Povey was my 4th grade teacher. She split up the tables and named them after her favorite cartoons, Looney Toons. I was in the "Sylvester" table. That was the year we went on the Pilgrim. I was in the "line handlers" group. I remember, when we were on watch, we accidentally woke up Mrs. Povey. What a nightmare! The day before, Shane C. had to eat an onion because he talked to much. I had Mission La Pirissima...(long name), it was a fun project. My mission was interesting. We also had a Pioneer Web project, I did Gaspar de Portola. Good times, good times.
Mrs. Peterson, Mrs. Povey's rival, was an excellent teacher for 5th grade. That year we made the mummies. I was in a group with Kurt L. and Matt C. Our theme was "Goofing off in class". We had paper airplanes flying all over the room. Mrs. Peterson used good examples to teach us English. For example, to demonstrate the sentence, "The teacher threw the eraser and marker and stormed out of the room". While demonstrating this, she "accidentally" hit me with an eraser while storming out of the room. Her infamous son Danny always showed up in her classroom for no reason. He was fun to have around. We also did a state project. I was Arizona, for my project I made the Grand Canyon. We also did the presidential elections. I voted for Bush. We also did The Living Stations of the Cross that year, I loved it!
In 6th grade, I had Mrs. Fiore as a teacher. She was a hard teacher to adjust to at first, but I got used to her. This is the year we went to 6th grade science camp. It was so much fun! That was the year we 1st entered middle school. Most of us hated it, with in the 1st couple of weeks a lot of us had warning slips and detentions. I really enjoyed my years in middle school, they taught me a lot about friendship and discipline.
7th grade was a wacky year. I had two teachers. My 1st teacher was Mrs. Marsh. Our 2nd We did an animal kingdom project that year. I did the domestic ferret. It was a really nice project. This was also the year we were the National Decathlon Champions. These are the times you must cherish, we beat a team from Iowa! Woo-Hoo! We also beat 11 other Californian teams. Awesome times, Awesome times.
What I remember most at Serra Catholic was when I was on the Decathlon team. We won the national championships in 2003. It will be an experience I will never forget. We owe almost all of our thanks to our head coach, Mrs. Muzzy.
This year I am in the 8th grade. I am looking forward to graduation. I cannot wait until the last day of school when I will (hopefully) receive my diploma.
Three things I do well are:
1.Sleeping. I can sleep through almost anything, including earthquakes.
2.Playing sports. I do well at playing sports because I love sports and devote my time to them.
3.Listing to music. Music relaxes me, it calms me.
Three things I would like to improve about myself are:
1.I would like to try and work harder because I want to get good grades in school so I can go to a good High School.
2.I would like to complain less because complaining gets me now where.
3.I would like to tweak my attitude because I would like a little better outlook on life.
Three things I enjoy doing are:
1.Riding my bike. I enjoy it because it gives me the freedom to wander around and get some exercise.
2.Sleeping. I just love to sleep. It is so relaxing. After a tough day at school, I come home, sit down, and take a nap. My "special" time.
3.Playing video games. I always enjoy playing games. Sometimes I release my anger on someone on my video games' characters. It is kind of a stress reliever.
A goal I have for this year is that I would like to graduate from Serra School.
I will achieve this goal by:
1.Working hard at my school work.
2.Getting good grades.
3.paying attention in class.
Three careers that I am interested in are:
1.Government work, because I would like to clean up the streets.
2.An architect because I love to draw and develop plans and blue prints on my computer.
3.A roller coaster designer because I love drawing and making crazy things.
Three school subjects related to my career interests and why are:
1.P.E. because it would teach me physical conditioning.
2.Art because it would teach me important skills in art.
3.Math because I would need the skills to calculate the angles and such.
This year I have learned not to play with circuit breakers.
