I started my Serra Catholic School career this year in the eighth grade.

I started school at St. Mark Catholic School in Plano, Texas and went from kindergarten until 7th grade. When I started kindergarten I was 5 years old. This is when I started to play many sports like gymnastics, and tennis. My teachers name was Mrs. Glieser and her assistants name was Mrs. Gonzales. I have very fond memories of these teachers like Mrs. Glieser's fist name was Charlotte and she was Charlotte's Web for Halloween and dressed as a spider. My best friends were Sami J. and Anne R. Towards the end of the year I joined the girl scouts to become a Daisy.

After kindergarten I went on to first grade. My teachers were Mrs. Buck my homeroom teacher, Ms. Mangelsdorf, and Mrs. Embry. My most fond memories of first grade were going to Ms. Mangelsdorf's wedding party and meeting her husband, Eric McCormick,  her name then changed to Mrs. McCormick which made it a lot easier to call her name. Mrs. Buck was a family friend and moved to New York towards the middle of the year. Mrs. Embry taught us religion and English. During the first grade I also joined  the T-ball team and played short stop and I became a brownie for girl scouts.

Next came the second grade which was a giant step in my religious life. My teachers were Mrs. Embry, Mrs. Meylink, and Mrs. Smith. Mrs. Meylink taught us religion. By teaching this, she lead us all to receive our first communion and first reconciliation. For science, which was taught by Mrs. Embry, we got to make a Dinosaur diorama. My Girl Scout troop 2369 went to girl scout camp in Tyler, Texas . This camp was called Camp Betty Parou.

In the third grade my teachers were Mrs. Ritchie, Mrs. Henderson, and Ms. Maybery. I was still a Brownie in girl scouts and we got to go to camp again and sold the girl scout cookies. My homeroom teacher, Mrs. Ritchie, was new to the school, but did an awesome job. Ms. Maybery was my favorite teacher I think that I have ever had. She taught math and religion with many hands on and focus activities. My other teacher Mrs. Henderson's son was in our grade. Also in third grade a student in my grade, Jacob Goforth, was in a terrible accident and was paralzed from the waste down.

After the third I went to fourth grade. My teachers were Ms. Joliet, Mrs. Gitzinger, and Mrs. Mercado. Ms. Joliet taught religion and Literature. Mrs. Gitzinger taught English and Social Studies. Mrs. Mercado taught science and math. Fourth grade was kind of boring but we went on some awesome field trips. We took a field trip to the Dallas Aquarium.

Next came the fifth grade, my teachers were Ms. Palmer and Mrs. Catanach. My other teacher, Ms. Smith, left after the third week of school because she got sick. We went through so many teachers and substitutes, but for the last month of school in the fifth grade we had a teacher who was the best I have ever had, Mrs. Lewis. Later on in the year we went to a Catholic camp called the Pines. We learned many new things on leadership and loving God. There were obstacles and ropes courses to help us all grow to love one another.

Mrs. Lewis then followed my grade to sixth grade and taught us English and we had many other teachers like: My math teacher was  Mrs. Gerwer, my literature teacher Mrs. Orchowski, Mrs. Spurlin who was my homeroom and religion teacher, Mrs. Pantuso who taught me science, and my social studies teacher Mrs. Mitchell. Sixth grade was my first chance to get voted onto student council and I did! My student council teachers were Mrs. Spurlin and Mrs. Orchowski and they were a great influence on my life. I was voted home base representative along with an eighth grader Tracy Chambers.

Next I went to seventh grade. My teachers were they same as before but my year wasn't. I was once again on student council as a home base representative with and eighth grader, Karolyn Hennig. The first half of my seventh grade was focused towards a future city project; my city was called Civis Aridus which meant Arid City in Latin. Towards the end of the year my elective was the Stations of the Cross . In this elective we performed the stations of the cross for the entire school.

I started my Serra Catholic School career this year in the eighth grade. My homeroom teachers are Mrs. Muzzy who teaches Social Studies and Mrs. Tilton who teaches Religion.  The people that are helping me feel welcome here is just about everybody. I don't really have a best friend just yet but everybody is being very kind to me. My other teachers are Ms. Palmiotto who teaches Language Arts and Mrs. Budhabhatti who teaches science and math.

My teacher has made learning fun.  She has done this by teaching us the basics through hands on activities like making the assignments an art related activity or a group related activity. They have also made them fun by grouping us with other students to do the activities.

What I remember most about getting accepted into Serra is being excited to meet new people and learn new things. I was also very excited to get to finish off my middle school experience with brand new people and new friends.

This year I am in the eighth grade.  I am looking forward to the rest of the year coming together and getting to graduate with all my new friends. I  am also looking forward to the opportunity to go to leadership camp!!

Three things I do well are:

1.  I make friends and feel comfortable in new situations well.

2.  I am a very artistic person and I love to do artistic activities and be creative with them, but also when it comes to theater or singing, I can perform in front of people and crowds well and enjoy performing the arts.

3.  I am also a very athletic person and tend to exceed in any sports I try. I love to play new sports but my favorites are tennis, volleyball, lacrosse, diving, and running track. I also love enjoying soccer, trying to play basketball, and kickball.

Three things I would maybe like to improve about myself or like to exceed are:

1.  I tend to be a very social person but that is not so good when it comes to classes so I would like to be able to be less talkative in class.

2.  I would also like to make better grades. My grades are acceptable but they could be better. I will do this by studying. I would also like to get closer to God. I will do this by going to Church.

3. I would like to play tennis better and be better in the tournaments I participate in. I will do this by practicing.

Three things I like and enjoy to do are:

1.  I LOVE to play sports like tennis and volleyball!! I also like to dive. I also like to perform in front of people even if I am making a fool of myself!!

2.  I also love to go to my camp in the summer. It is called Camp Mystic and is located in Hunt, TX . Which is always the highlight of my summer.

3.  I even enjoy going shopping or to the movies so that I can have more of an opportunity to hang out and talk with my friends.

One of my goals I have for this year is: to make the best grades I possibly can. I would like to achieve this so that I can get into Santa Margarita and The University of Texas or Louisiana State University. I would also like to achieve this goal so I can be happy and proud of myself.

I will achieve this goal by:

1.  I can do this by making more time for studying for all my classes.

2.  I can also achieve this by trying harder in all of my classes and focusing on the lesson and not what is going on around me.

3.  The best way I can achieve this is by putting myself out there so that I can learn more than necessary and have the street smarts and the class room smarts.

Four careers that I am interested in are:

1.  I am interested architecture because I would get to incorporate my favorite subjects (math and art).

2. I think the job of being a food critic would be fun.

3. I am also interested in the performing arts and that would be a really fun job!! Or any job I could get that would include me playing sports I would enjoy.

4. The job of being a fashion designer would be very fun because I am very interested in fashion.

Three school subjects related to my career interests and why are:

1. Music and PE so that I can exceed in my sports and in my athletic ability.

2. Math so that I can be able to count and add well for architecture.

3. Art so that I would be able to draw the houses for a career in architecture and for a career in fashion designing for drawings of the clothes I design.

This year I have learned
